STUDENT PROFILE
- Has a diagnosed learning difference or an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Exhibits symptoms of a learning difference, a lack of learning self-confidence, and/or has been labeled as a poor test taker.
- Has tested below grade level due to weaknesses in reading, English and/or math skills.
- Exhibits low self-esteem and self-confidence in his academic ability and social interactions.
- Articulates a willingness or desire to fulfill his academic potential.
OBJECTIVES
- To individualize learning.
- To implement basic organizational skills that progress and improve during high school and will contribute to a successful college performance.
- To achieve maximum learning potential.
- To build self-esteem and to develop confidence in his academic abilities and social skills.
- To ensure smaller class sizes by monitoring teacher to student ratio.
CURRICULAR STRATEGIES
- Participation in a mandatory three-week Summer Session.
- Supplemental cross-curricular resources and software are employed.
- Regular review of each student’s basic organizational skills.
- Monthly team meetings with all teachers to assess student progress.
- Up-to-date technology and cross-curricular training for teachers.
- Workshop training, seminars, and continuing education opportunities available for teachers.
- Additional resources available to address each student’s social and emotional needs.
